River Workgroups

The Association of Northwest Steelheaders' River Workgroups Program exists to protect and advocate for the health of our regional rivers through community-led action.

By monitoring news, policy developments, and emerging threats to key waterways, our dedicated workgroups collaborate to develop informed, timely responses.

Each River Workgroup is a team that collaborates via email and/or quarterly meetings to track issues that are happening on their river - or other bodies of water in their region. River Workgroups plan enhancement projects and other events, respond to threats, and escalate issues to the board when broader awareness or action is needed.

About River Workgroups
Guided by River Ambassadors, these teams coordinate through regular communication, propose action plans, and escalate urgent issues to the Board of Directors when appropriate. Together, we strive to be vigilant stewards of our watersheds, ensuring they remain vibrant, fishable, and protected for generations to come.
