Family Fish Camp is for families who want to know more about fishing in the Pacific Northwest. Passionate anglers with years of experience will teach you how to tie knots and rig gear, how to identify fish and most importantly,

How to Catch Fish!!

Spend a weekend living a summer camp experience with your family! Sleep in cabin bunks, dine in the lodge cafeteria, and count the stars in the secluded forest along the rushing Sandy River.

Camp check in will start at 5 pm on Friday and camp will wrap up around noon on Sunday.

Parents who want their children to participate in outdoor activities will come together for a fun weekend on the Sandy River. Participants will stay in cabins, make new friends, and learn the basics of fishing during the weekend. Experienced Steelheader volunteers will teach knot tying, fish identification, equipment essentials, and how to land fish! Families will leave the weekend with the skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm needed to explore the rivers and lakes that provide endless outdoor recreational opportunities in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

What is included in the cost?

–Two nights lodging in cabin bunks, five meals (Friday dinner to Sunday breakfast), and all weekend instruction and activities.

What is the age range for youth?

The bulk of youth participants last year were aged from 7-12. However, this event is open to all ages!

What kind of fishing gear do we need to bring?

None! We will provide all necessary fishing equipment for the weekend – from line and bobbers to the rods and reels! We gear this event for families with little to no experience, so we do not expect you to own any gear.

When does camp begin on Friday?

Check in begins at 5 pm and dinner will be at 6:30. We can accommodate you if you need to arrive later Friday night.

When does camp end on Sunday?

Sunday morning will consist of breakfast, fishing if you choose, and adventure planning! The Steelheaders are on the rivers of Oregon in rain and shine throughout the year! We will help your family plan your own fishing adventure. Camp will wrap up in late morning; plan on being out of there by noon.
