Tualatin Valley Fall Fish Along
October 13 - October 15
Join the Tualatin Valley Chapter of the Association of Northwest Steelheaders for a fun weekend of fall fishing. See the bottom of this message for sign-up details.
We will stay in the 4H Dormitory located at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds. Accommodations are clean and rustic. Sleeping is in bunk rooms divided by gender. Bring all your personal necessities: Current Fishing License with appropriate tags, sleeping bag, pillow, towels, and most importantly…ear plugs! Meals and lodging are included in the required fee.
Full payment for the Fish-Along MUST be received by the Monday prior to the event to reserve your spot. Our October Chapter Meeting is the day before the Fish-Along, so there MAY be a slim chance to sign up at the October Chapter meeting, so bring your checkbook! Refunds only if requested more than 7 days prior to event start date.
$95 non-members (includes annual ANWS Membership)
$70 for active members without a boat.
$50 for boat captains offering open seats to participants.
Price includes the following:
Lodging Friday and Saturday nights in a dormitory environment.
Meals: Saturday: Hot Breakfast, sack Lunch and Dinner feast. Sunday: Hot Breakfast and sack Lunch. We do not plan a prepared meal on Friday. If you arrive before dinnertime on Friday and want to eat, we pass the hat and pick up some pizzas for whoever is interested.
– We will be targeting Fall Chinook in waters within the Tillamook Basin: Wilson, Trask, Nestucca, Tillamook, Kilches, Nehalem etc depending on the boat captain, conditions and all that.
– Attendees will be fishing from drift boats and/or from the bank. Boats are provided by Chapter Member volunteers who have received formal safety training, drift boat captain training, and have current USCG Safety Certification on their boast. The more boats we get, the more people we can provide rides down the river. If you are lucky enough to ride in a boat (most people do), common etiquette dictates that you kick in a few bucks to the captain of your boat to help with expenses. Suggested contribution is $20 per seat, but consider how much gas is burned, cost of bait and fishing gear used, etc. Our volunteers are not guides, this is not a required fee, just common angler courtesy.
– This event is “rain or shine”, so watch the weather forecasts and be prepared!!-Bring your rain gear, boots, waders if you have them. If you have fishing gear for Fall Chinook, bring it. Some boat captains provide gear and tackle for their guests, but bring it if ya got it.
– If you have questions or want some help to get ready, if you are new to coastal stream or salmon fishing, if it has been a while since you have done this kind of fishing, or if you are experienced and just want to sharpen your skills, come to the October Chapter Meeting for tips and techniques.
If you signed up at the September Chapter Meeting, just pay your required fee by Monday October 9 and you are all set.
If you have not signed up yet and want to go, please RSVP here, and pay your fees prior to Monday October 9.
If you need to send in your fee, please send Tim Lenihan, TV Chapter President, a private message for details of how to get your money received. Information is listed below.
